GOLD -VS- THE S&P 500
The S&P 500 measures the value of stocks of the 500 largest corporations by market capitalization listed on the New York stock exchange or Nasdaq composite. Standard & Poor’s intention is to have a price that provides a quick look at the stock market and economy.
GOLD -VS- THE NASDAQ
The Nasdaq Composite is a stock market index of the common stocks and similar securities listed on the Nasdaq stock market. Along with the Dow Jones and S&P500 it is the one of the three most followed indices in the U.S. stock market.
GOLD -VS- THE DOW JONES
The Dow Jones Industrial Average(DJIA) is a stock market index that tracks the daily prices of shares of stock of 30 large publicly owned companies sold on the US stock market. The DJIA is a price weighted index, which means the sum of the component stock prices is divided by the divisor. The total return of the Dow Jones is calculated if you reinvested dividends.
GOLD -VS- OIL
Light sweet crude oil is known as West Texas Intermediate (WTI). The price of oil is measured by the barrel and determined by future contracts traded on the NYMEX.
GOLD -VS- THE 10YR TREASURY
The 10-year Treasury note is a debt obligation issued by the United States government that matures in 10 years. A 10-year Treasury note pays interests at a fixed rate once every six months and pays the face value to the holder at maturity.
GOLD -VS- A SAVINGS ACCOUNT
A Savings Account is an interest-bearing deposit account held at a bank or another financial institution that provides a modest interest rate. Banks or financial institutions may limit the number of withdrawals you can make form your savings account each month, and they may charge fees unless you maintain a certain average monthly balance in the account.
